The Studio

Located in the beautiful Annex neighbourhood in Toronto, City Dance Corps has been an industry leader in the Canadian dance scene since 2002.  We aim to spread the love of dance as a joyful, human experience, and provide a space that is encouraging, professional, and for everyone - no matter where you come from or how much dance experience you have.

Our Program

Each and every one of our classes contribute to a healthy environment that encourages the pursuit of excellence.  The structure of our program is designed to nourish your child ing developing coordination, self-esteem, self-discipline, and creativity, as well as a healthy body and mind.  Our professional instructors pride themselves on bringing out the best in your child, and closely following their growth week to week, year after year.

We offer beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes in ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop, street dance styles, musical theatre and pointework. Our intermediate and advanced classes offer students the ability to train with a deeper level and pursue a higher level of their chosen dance style.  We have a pre-professional performance programs for dancers ages 10 and up that are by invitation and/or audition.

As a studio, we have chosen not to participate in dance competitions. Instead we use this time to develop dancers’ skills in other areas, including ballet examinations, workshops, recitals, and performance crews.

Our Values

We value joy through the welcoming and embodiment of spontaneous forms of expression that are intrinsic to the dance experience.  Laughter, social connection and FUN are a fundamental part of being a child and enjoying life through dance.

Through our level of thoughtfulness in instruction, class programming, community building and personal interactions, we are constantly in the pursuit of enriching your child's experience as a dancer, and as a member of our community.

We show our students that they are both appreciated and important by making sure they are seen, heard, and have choices, and balance this with their commitment to being part of a corps.  Our philosophy allows students to try new things and be assured that they are always enough - even when they fall.

Our dance classes and teaching methodologies support and nurture the whole health of each dancer.  Every member of our youth staff is committed to the physical, mental, and social emotional development of your child.

Keeping Toronto moving since 2002.
